When we understand more about ourselves and others it can be so helpful in improving how we work and especially in times of change. One of the tools I use when I work with leaders and teams is DISC, which gives insights into different behavioural styles. It can be so valuable in helping to shape and deliver the most appropriate communication approaches to keep disruption down and engagement up.

How well are you listening to your people in times of change?

Back in 2021, I wrote a post about how leaders who have been immersed for some time in the ‘change thing’ they’re going to communicate, can behave - it’s an “I’m here, where are you?” thing. They sometimes forget that the people they’re communicating with won’t have the same level of knowledge as them. And this is even more important to avoid when you’re working at a global level.
