September; a change of season and a time for new ideas

September is all about transition and change. As the seasons shift from summer to autumn, the first few days of returning from holidays to work or school and getting into a different groove can feel discombobulating and a little bit ‘in between’.

Although it can leave us feeling a bit out of sorts, this time can also offer a great thinking space, when we still have a little bit of distance from the detail of the day-to-day.

As a result of my being in this place for a few days and thinking about the topics that have come up repeatedly in the consultancy, coaching and facilitation work I deliver, I now have a clear plan of the areas I’m going to be exploring in the Twist blog over the next few months.

I’ll be sharing ‘how tos’, lessons learned from some brilliant – and not so brilliant – organisations and leaders as well as deep-diving into some meaty subjects and sharing insights and ideas.

I’ll be looking at issues like: the realities of leading in times of change and uncertainty; driving change when it can feel difficult; developing adaptability and flexibility; building emotional intelligence, influence and self-awareness as leaders; cultivating resilience in ourselves and others; effective communication in change; dealing with resistance and much, much more.

In a shifting world that often feels very uncertain, these posts will be particularly useful to any leader or manager responsible for driving change in their organisation or for anyone new to leadership or management.

So, if you know someone who you think would benefit from these regular updates, please forward this sign-up link to them:

If you’re looking at these topics and thinking, “these aren’t really for me” and decide to unsubscribe, I won’t take it personally (but let’s stay in touch on LinkedIn). No-one needs even more emails in their inbox that they’re not loving.

But, if you’re keen to stay, I’m looking forward to sharing these ideas with you and most of all, getting your feedback on what’s important to you.

So, hit reply or get in touch if there’s anything around change at an individual, team or organisation level that you’d like to hear more about.
